BIKANER: BJP MLA from Hanumangarh's Bhadra and a party worker were injured while the driver was killed when the SUV they were travelling in lost balance and hit a tree in Bhadra early on Sunday. The MLA was on his way to Delhi to attend in a meeting. The driver died during treatment. MLA Sanjiv Beniwal suffered injuries on his backside and shoulder and was then referred to Jaipur for treatment.
The police officials said an investigation has been launched into the cause of the mishap.
According to the police, the mishap occurred near Sherpura village in Bhadra around 6 am on Sunday. SHO Bhadra police station told TOI that Beniwal along with party worker Virendra Beniwal was going to Delhi in his own car. The MLA's driver Idrish was driving the car.
The car suddenly lost balance and rammed into a tree. All three of them got injuries and were taken to a government hospital in Bhadra. Driver Idrish got serious injuries and was referred to Sirsa (Haryana) but he died on the way to Sirsa.
Beniwal has suffered injuries on his shoulder and backside and after primary treatment at Bhadra, he has been referred to Jaipur for further treatment. Bhadra police has registered case under section 174 of CrPC.
